Institutional Sales (VP/ SVP) (Secondary Markets – Focused on Financial Sector Clients)

About the job

The banking financial services and buy side sales group  has a unique setup among peers and is the core of the Global Markets department for the Client.

This desk leverages the sales and  trading capabilities across asset classes and applied various financial instruments to provide clients with comprehensive investment and exectuion solutions.

The key to success and sustainably is to serve clients from all indepdendent, research-based  perspectives and to better manage risks cross micro- and macro-cycles.

The Institutional Sales (VP/ SVP) must have existing experience in 

Responsibilities:

  • Cover Institutional Clients (including but not limit to Banks, Asset Managers, Investment Houses, Hedge Funds, Private Banks, Sovereign Funds etc) in Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore and other Asia Pacific jurisdictions  and establish strong, lasting client relationships
  • Provide solutions (including Bonds of Primary and Secondary Market, On/Off Balance Sheet Structured Note, Repo, Options and Swaps, and Cross-Border Solutions (QDII/QFII)) to clients
  • Work with sales traders and structurers to optimize clients’ and internal positions
  • Coordinate with internal teams on close-chain projects and to optimize workflow
  • Ad-hoc projects including advisory to research teams on target industry/ corporate research analysis reports for clients

Requirements:

  • The candidate shall have the ample ambition and hunger to deepen existing client relationships and to build new ones under pressure. Own existing clientele within Private Banks, Family Offices or Corporates is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree with min. 3 to 5 years working experience in an institutional  sales role (not sales dealing) within an SFC / HKMA licensed  Financial Markets environment of reputational Financial Institutions (preferred foreign Investment Banks) with exposure to structured solutions and products
  • Familiar with systems such as Bloomberg (including TOMS) and other sales analytic tools
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Comes from excellent , top tier University
  • Working rights to work in Hong Kong with some business travel expected
