Job Description

Title:             China Head of Agency Development

Location:      Shenzhen, China

Background:          

Our client is one of the largest worldwide insurance groups. with an Asian Regional Office in Hong Kong, they are hiring a China Head of Agency of Development for their team.

Responsibilities:

Set up the Business

• Act as key contact person for various parties
• Set up a new office in Shenzhen
• Build up a basic management and business team
• Build business plan and execute various business initiatives

General Management and Regular Reporting

• Supervise day to day operations of the company
• Responsible for day-to-day decisions

Stakeholder Management

• Works closely with Regional Office and occasionally Head Office on business planning and execution
• Manage relationship with local authorities including CIRC
• Manage different stakeholders of various business lines and distribution channels
• Advise the Board of Directors

Lead the Business

• Act as a leader within the company
• Run the business which primarily involves distribution of insurance products, may also involves asset management at a later stage
• Build and supervise the execution of various business initiatives and plans
• Manage the various distribution channels, which may include agencies, brokers, online platform etc.
• Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and service
• Monitor performance levels and look to the future for change opportunities
• Assisting in implementing local marketing and business plans to support sales strategies

Requirements:

• Experienced and strong knowledge of the China insurance market
• Proven ability to run a distribution business in China
• Asset management and banking experience is a plus
• Possess management capability required for performing his or her duties
• Fluent in Mandarin and English
• Able to take CIRC examination or other required examination from local regulators/ “Fit and Proper” under guidelines of CIRC or other regulatory bodies
• Familiar with insurance laws and administrative regulations
• Good project management skills
• Customer driven and goal driven
• Excellent personal and communication skills
• To start in Shenzhen, and potentially relocate to other Tier 1 or 2 city at later stage (depending on the business plan)
